Greetings from Ms. Liz!

Hello friends! Welcome to a fun space to create and explore ideas together. As the art teacher at Dilworth Elementary, I hope these will be simple and motivating art projects that anyone can do at home. Most projects use common and inexpensive materials that you probably have lying around your house, but feel free to explore with a variety of mediums if they are accessible to you.

Put a Little ART in Every Day!!

For creative new projects and fun ideas for all students of all ages, please see the "Daily Activities" tab.

"Life Notes" ~ This ten-day unit will focus on facing challenges and conquering fears through art, particularly addressing the social-emotional needs of students.

"Elements of Art" is a basic curriculum for students to explore the fundamental building blocks of artistic principles.

The "Artists" tab is where you can find information about Art History and works of the Masters. Note: this section is still a work in progress and I'm happy to take suggestions on things you'd like to see added.

For fun paper folding creations, please see the "Origami" tab.

For coloring pages, drawing tutorials, craft ideas, and supply suggestions, see the "Resources" tab.

For displays of student work, see the "Gallery" tab.

For questions, feedback, and ideas for art concepts you'd like to learn or projects you'd like to try, please email me at elizabeth.mcconkie@slcschools.org

Art Mascots

Our parakeets, Pip and Boba, like to chime in while I'm recording art lessons. If you hear them in the background, know that they're cheering you on too!

Acknowledgments

Many thanks to Midvale Elementary and the many wonderful students there who inspired the creation of this web page during the school shutdown in the spring of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
